Sick of unwieldy lifting gear?

Spreader bars versus lifting beams and frames

Have you been wondering what the difference between lifting beams and spreader bars is?
It’s not always clear how to distinguish the one from the other. Different lifting devices can often do the same job, which adds to the misconception that the terms are interchangeable.
Frankly, we have not been completely sure of what term to use for our products either.
Simply put, both lifting beams and spreader bars adds the possibility to use multiple attachment points to lifting equipment that would otherwise only provide a single point. This is of great use when lifting large or long objects as it adds stability to the lift, and they allow You to lift objects that othervise could not be lifted from a single point.

So what is the difference?

  • A lifting beam or spreader beam

Is commonly a stout I-beam with one central attachment point on the top and two or more attachment points on the bottom. Because of its design, it must be structurally very sturdy to handle the stresses involved and lifting beams are therefore generally very heavy.

  • A spreader bar

Is a bar with attachment points at both ends. By design it does not do any real lifting itself as it just spreads out the legs of the lifting slings, therefore spreader bars can be made to be lightweight. The top rigging also gives You stability in the lift.

  • Lifting frames or spreader frames

Are multiple point lifting devices with more than two attachment points. They are generally very heavy. Being able to use multiple attachment points may however sometimes be a necessity when lifting complex or delicate objects.

Well, what do we have to bring to the table? For one, experience. Being in the business for a long time as a company providing lifting services, we know what we like when we see it. And the fact is, we have never before seen a product like ours.

We just had to make it ourselves.

The versatility and light weight of the spreader bar combined with the adaptability of an adjustable lifting frame is what makes our design so successful.
The light weight makes use and transportation easy to handle by one man. The telescopic design makes it versatile when in use and allows you to easily store it when not in use.
